Goodbye Skip
I was fortunate enough to have met Skip Caray a handful of times having had gone to high school with one of his kids. I spent many of my formative years going to Braves games, and perhaps one of my favorite stories involves me, Lee, and Josh riding with Skip to a high school basketball game in the pouring rain sometime back in the late 1990s. It was a long ride, and there needed to be music, and through some finagling, in my early-teen years, I was able to convince one of Atlanta‘s biggest celebrities to rock out to Hershey Park 1985 with us on the ride down. Yeah, bizarre story.
I have put a link to what is my personal favorite call Skip Caray ever made, and this probably holds true for any baseball fan in Atlanta, or anybody who has any sense of pride in this town. I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at this game and listening to the call a few moments ago for the first time in years definitely sent a chill down my spine.
We’ll miss you Skip
