For those who are unaware, recently I have started helping San Francisco-based netlabel Two Circles Records, a small outfit started by Simple and Cullen Miller. I am pleased to announce that I will be appearing with Simple during one of his two upcoming Atlanta performances this week, Thursday night at Lava Lounge as a part of the Thermal series presented by Heat Promotions.
I first found out about Simple around this time last year, during his performance at Bazzaar alongside Pheek, at was immediately struck by the IDM-influenced stripped down dub sound of his music. As I assume a number of readers of this site are still unfamiliar with his work we are pleased to offer not only an outstanding interview courtesy of dubstepped.net but also a mini-mix of some favorite Simple tunes highlighting his forthcoming “Fall Around The Cut” EP on Germany’s Ilian Tape label. The mix comes from another San Francisco native SNF as a part of his weekly “Steppin Into Tomorrow” broadcast series on dubstep.fm. Additionally, as the purveyor of a netlabel there are a number of excellent releases already available for free from Simple by clicking over to the Two Circles releases page.
Be sure also to keep your schedule free for Saturday night as Simple joins Detroit’s Derek Plaslaiko, of Ghostly International fame, and Atlanta’s own Richard Devine for an exciting night of forward-thinking techno sounds at Atlanta’s esteemed King Plow Arts Center.
