Royal-T – Sonic Router Mix #65

Royal-TEverybody claimed it was dead but grime is looking alive and well as we begin our journey into 2011. At the forefront of this resurgence is the rising Butterz label, helmed by Elijah and Skilliam, featuring releases from some of grime’s heaviest hitters.

In support of his latest Orangeade EP release on the Butterz label, our friends at Sonic Router recently sat with Royal-T for a lengthy interview and an obligatory mix which should definitely be on your list of music to check out today.

With all the recent appreciation coming to grime with grime podcasts featured in XLR8R, Fact Magazine and Resident Advisor’s well-estabilshed podcasts in addition to the exciting resurgence of grime tunes from producers like Royal T, it’s exciting to see grime music reaching a stage beyond the confines of London.

Full tracklist beneath the fold here, much thanks due to Sonic Router, and of course the GRIMESPREE blog – for putting me on to the sounds of Royal-T long ago.
