The word seems well out on this one now, but thanks to the good crew at GrimeSpree for making me aware of the latest podcast from Resident Advisor featuring an hour of selections mixed by Terror Danjah.

Definitely a change of pace for Resident Advisor; following a string of stripped down sounds with a number of minimal selectors, and most recently the ASC podcast, it is excellent to see grime and Terror Danjah getting some deserved spotlight time, especially coming off the release of his first full length release ‘Undeniable’ now out on Hyperdub.

This one is pretty insane. Can’t wait for the release of this in just over two weeks. I heard this on BBC Radio 1 the other evening courtesy of Mistajam while driving home from dinner. I was so astounded by the sounds I immediately hit up the GrimeSpree crew to ask what the hell I was listening to. I’ve been wanting to work more grime into my 140-bpm based sets lately, if more tunes like this are available, it’s going to happen sooner rather than later. Big ups to DJ Swerve on the buttons here, check it out for yourself:

More and more it seems electronic artists both large and small are beginning to embrace the notion of letting out tracks that may not otherwise see release leverage the ease of digital distribution, most recently via Twitter. It is certainly nothing new however it seems the past few days, there has been myriad mentionable releases in the realm of urban underground music this blog primarily stays focused on. I can hardly claim to be the first to report any of these however, there were too many not to mention — and if only one person finds something new that they enjoy as a result then I consider it Mission: Accomplished.
